| A more ornate and larger lyre than our standard Roman Lyre not quite as big as the Kithara. Broad graceful curves on the arms and a rounded sound box make this a more ornate instrument.
The model illustrated above is in cherry with a maple soundboard, strung in gut. The bridge of the lyre is free to move and can be positioned as required to give different ranges of notes. Although we normally recommend a dorian scale the movable bridge allows a variety of tunings. |
