The Bard's Harp | Suzanne Guldimann | Stock Code: bkoo5e
![]() |
| Suzanne Guldimann has researched and arranged 23 pieces of Elizabethan and Jacobean music that are believed to have originally accompanied the songs in Shakespeare's plays. The collection includes popular songs of the time that are quoted in Shakespeare's works as well as pieces thought to have been composed specifically for the plays.
All of the pieces in this collection can be performed on a harp with just two and a half octaves, or on any larger harp or melody instrument. The pieces are arranged in the keys of C and G and their relative modes/minors. However, a number of the pieces contain accidentals and require lever changes. Each piece includes historical information, chord symbols, fingering, and lyrics. 48 pages, paperbound. Here's what Suzanne told us about her inspiration for her cover artwork. I've always thought that Prospero had harps in mind when he talks about his magic in terms of "heavenly music," so the cover art is meant to be the summoning of the Tempest.
