Due to the wide inner cone its tone resembles that of an ocarina. A slightly larger instrument than the soprano, this has an soft mellow tone. The Cip Gemshorns have a fipple carved out of the shape of the horn and the block for ease of playing The block itself is made from moisture resistant cedar. | The Loriman pipe is a Renaissance alto windcap instrument designed and produced in our own Early Music Shop Workshop. It is pitched in f, made from rosewood. Played via a slit mouthpiece forming the reed cap.
It has a straight parallel bore and has a range and sound very similar to the crumhorn. It is a useful instrument for both folk and early music. Each instrument is tuned individually by our workshop technician and uses our unique plastic double reed Available now |
